Pin your templates on the Project ribbon tab. This way, you always have your commonly used templates available directly on the Project ribbon tab. When you upgrade to memoQ 2015 and higher, the 2 default local templates are pinned: One TM and one TB per language pair and One TM per client template.

How to begin

When you open memoQ, memoQ displays the Dashboard and the Project ribbon tab open.

In the Create Project section, you see the 2 last used templates and the pinned templates displayed. This section grows the more templates you pin.

Double click a template name to open the Create new project from template dialog.

Options

Click the downward pointing arrow icon in the lower right corner of the pinned template list to open a menu with 2 commands: Add Template and Manage Templates.

Add Template:

Choose the location of your template from the drop-down list, then click Select. Choose My Computer to display all local project templates. Choose a memoQ server to display the remote project templates, i.e., which are stored on your memoQ server.

Note: If you choose Language Terminal, My Computer is selected instead. Resources from Language Terminal are currently not supported.

Select a template from the list below. Click Add to pin this template to the Project ribbon tab. Click Cancel to cancel your selection and to close this dialog.

Manage Templates:

Choose the location of your template from the drop-down list, then click Select. Choose My Computer to display all local project templates. Choose a memoQ server to display the remote project templates, i.e., which are stored on your memoQ server.

On the left side, you see all available templates. Local templates are indicated with [local], remote templates have the memoQ server name in brackets (e.g. [demo.kilgray.com]).

On the right side, you see all pinned templates.

Use the Add and Remove buttons to add templates to the right side, i.e. pinning them to the Project ribbon tab; or to remove them from the Project ribbon tab.

Use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to move the pinned templates up or down in the list. Depending on the order here, the templates will have the same order on the Project ribbon tab. The project template that you use the most should be listed on top of the list.

Click OK to save your changes. Click Cancel to discard your changes and to close this dialog.

Note: You cannot select multiple templates at once, only single selection.

The pinned templates are also shown in the New project pane of the memoQ application menu.

The list of pinned templates is shown above the recent template list, separated by a horizontal line. Hover over a template to display the pin icon. Click the pin icon to unpin a template. You can also pin a template from the recently used template list below the horizontal line. A template appears only once, even if it is listed in both lists; in this case, it is listed in the pinned template list.

After unpinning templates, they are no longer shown on the Project ribbon tab.

Navigation

Right-click in the project template section on the Project ribbon tab. You have several options:

Customize The Ribbon: Choose this option to pin the project templates, e.g. to the Quick Access Toolbar. After pinning the templates, you see a blue dot icon. If you have pinned the templates to the Quick Access Toolbar, you also have an option to remove it.

Minimize The Ribbon: Choose this option to minimize the ribbon. Press Ctrl+F1 to expand the ribbon again.

Unpin This Template: Choose this option to unpin the selected template.
