When you start memoQ, the Dashboard appears. There is a news bar at the left of the Translator Dashboard screen that shows news items related to the memoQ version you are using, e.g. if you are using memoQ 2015, then you only see memoQ 2015 related news. When you have the project manager edition of memoQ, you have a news feed icon () that you can click (if new news are available, the icon turns blue to click it and to display the news). You can also disable the news feed. Go to the memoQ application menu, then click Options > Options > Update and news.

The news bar is a web browser in disguise that shows content from the Kilgray website, e.g. of what was fixed in the latest build, announcements for events, etc.

DISCLAIMER: The news bar is not directed communication that is sent to specific addresses. Kilgray does not receive information on who is watching the news or using specific features of memoQ. Kilgray has no means to identify particular users when they are accessing the news feed.

You can turn off the news feed from the Options dialog. For further instructions, see: How to opt out from receiving the Dashboard news feed.
