When you start memoQ, the Dashboard appears. There is a news bar at the left of the Dashboard screen that shows news items related to memoQ.

The news bar is a web browser in disguise that shows content from the Kilgray website.

DISCLAIMER: Contents in the news bar is not directed communication that is sent to specific addresses. All copies of memoQ display the news feed by default. Kilgray does not receive information on who is watching the news or using specific features of memoQ. Kilgray has no means to identify particular users when they are accessing the news feed.

If you do not want to receive the news feed, you can turn it off by following the steps below:

1.From the memoQ application menu, choose Options > Options. The Options dialog appears.

2.On the left, click the Updates and news category.

3.In the Dashboard news section, check the Do not show news on the Dashboard check box.

4.Click OK.

Note: This option is only available in the project manager edition of memoQ.
