The Connection pane of the Server administrator dialog allows you to connect to a remote memoQ server where you have administrative permissions. Before doing anything, you must connect – log in – to the server.

Important: You can also connect to a memoQ server if you are the manager of a subvendor group on the server of your client. Click here to see the topic on the subvendor manager view of Server Administrator.

How to begin

On the Project ribbon tab, choose Server Administrator. The Connection pane is displayed by default. You must connect to the server before you proceed to other panes.

Options

Server URL: Use this drop-down list to enter the DNS name or IP address of the server you want to connect to. You can either type the server address, or select from the drop-down list. The list contains servers that were connected to in the past.

Select: Click this button to connect to the server using your authentication information. If you have connected to the server previously, memoQ will use the stored user name and password. If you had no previous connection to that server, memoQ will prompt you for a user name and a password.

Forget (stored login): Click this link if you want to log in to the memoQ server with a different user name and password.

Note: After memoQ forgets the previous user name and password, it will always use the new name and password to log in to the same server in every situation.

Status: This field indicates whether you are connected to a server or not, and if yes, this field also indicates the name of that server.

Logged in as: Shows the user name that you used to connected to the server.

Note: Once connected, the title of the dialog will show the version and build number of the remote server.

Navigation

Click Close to close the Server administrator dialog. This will save all changes.
