In memoQ, term extraction happens in sessions. On the Preparation ribbon tab, click the Extract Terms arrow, then choose Term Extraction Sessions.

A session always exists within a memoQ project, and it consists of the following data:

the set of source material to extract candidates from: this is a list of documents, translation memories, and LiveDocs corpora to be processed by the term extractor.

the extraction settings for the session: the accepted length and frequency of the candidates, the stop word lists, and many more. For a detailed description, see the Extract candidates dialog.

the list of extracted candidates, their statuses and target-language equivalents: this is stored together with the memoQ project. When you work on a list of candidates in the candidate list editor, your changes are saved automatically: you can close memoQ, and return to your session later when you open memoQ and the same project again.
