You can manage your jobs, clients, and prices on Language Terminal. When you create a project in memoQ, memoQ can automatically add it as a job to Language Terminal. This memoQ project will be connected to Language Terminal.

You can also connect an existing project to Language Terminal. This is how you can add projects that you created before you joined Language Terminal.

Before you do this: You need a Language Terminal profile. You also need to save your Language Terminal user name and password in memoQ.

How to get here

1.Save your Language Terminal user name and password in memoQ. To do it, open the My memoQ page, and click My Language Terminal account.

2.Open a local project that is not connected to Language Terminal.

3.In Project home, choose Overview. There is a Language Terminal section:

4.Click Track this project in Language Terminal. The Connect project to Language Terminal window appears.

What can you do?

1. Fill in extra details about your job

memoQ doesn't need these details. But Language Terminal must have them, so that you can

▪send a quote;

▪keep track of the progress of the job;

▪file the job under a client;

▪have a financial report about all your jobs.

Fill in the following details:

▪Project name: This will be the name of the job on Language Terminal. Normally, it's the same as the name of your memoQ project. Change it only if there is another job on Language Terminal with the same name.

▪Client: Choose your client from the list on Language Terminal. Or, type the name of a new client. memoQ will add it to your list on Language Terminal.

▪Client project id: This is another project name, one that your client uses to refer to the project. You do not have to fill it in, unless your client requires that you do so.

▪Language pair: Language Terminal has a list of language pairs that you work with. If the language pair of the current project is not listed in your Language Terminal profile, it will be added automatically. There is nothing to change in this field.

No multilingual projects: The project you connect to Language Terminal must have one target language only. Multilingual projects cannot be tracked in Language Terminal for the time being.

▪Subject: You have a list of subject fields in Language Terminal. In this dialog, you need to choose one from a drop-down list. Or, type a new subject field if it's not on the list.

▪Deadline: Language Terminal tracks your progress, and sends you alerts when the deadline is close. Make sure you set the real deadline of your job in this field.

2. Choose the price of your job

Language Terminal stores so-called pricing strategies for you. Pricing strategies usually specify a word rate or an hourly rate, and if there is a word rate, you can also specify fuzzy discounts that you grant to your client. A pricing strategy can also be a flat fee, where you simply type the total amount of money that you wish to receive for your work.

Fuzzy discounts not forced: The above pricing strategies are examples only; they do not come by default with memoQ or Language Terminal. memoQ and Language Terminal do not force you to grant fuzzy discounts to your clients, although the possibility is there.

In memoQ, you must choose from pricing strategies that already exist on Language Terminal. If you need to add a new pricing strategy, click New pricing. This will open Language Terminal in your default Web browser: there you will be able to add a new pricing strategy or edit an existing one.

After you make changes to the pricing strategies in Language Terminal, return to memoQ, and click Download pricing strategies from Language Terminal.

Click the pricing strategy you wish to use.

When you finish

To create the job on Language Terminal, and connect the memoQ project to it: Click Start tracking.

To return to the project overview without making a change: Click Cancel.
