Set up Google machine translation to work with memoQ. You can also choose not to send specific texts to Google for translate.

How to get here

1.Open the Options window: At the very top of the memoQ window - in the Quick Access toolbar quick-access-default -, click the Options (cogwheels) quick-access-options icon. The Options window opens.

2.Under Category, click Machine translation. The Machine translation pane appears.

3.Under Installed machine translation plugins, find GoogleMT machine translation plugin. Next to its icon, click Options. The GoogleMT plugin settings window opens.

Use

1.Obtain your access. To learn how, see the memoQ Knowledge Base. At the end, you will have a Google API Key.

2.Under Key for API v2.0, paste your API key.

3.In the Referer box, enter localhost.

Take care of tags: When memoQ sends text to Google, the tags are not sent. The translation you get back from Google will not contain any tags. Normally, memoQ will insert all the tags at the end of the machine-translated text. To leave the tags out altogether, clear the Insert required tags at the end of the translation check box.

Do not send sensitive text to Google: Type a regular expression in the Do not translate segments that match the following regex box. If a segment matches the regular expression – that is, there is a series of characters in the segment that matches the regular expression –, memoQ will not send that segment to the Google machine translation service. For example, if you do not want to send segments that contain dollar amounts, write USD [0-9]+ or $ [0-9]+ in this text box.
