Resources > Term bases

A term base is a database that contains pairs of words or expressions (together: terms) in several languages. In translation, term bases are used like a glossary where you can look for terms that are relevant to your translation work.

This page shows the term bases on the memoQ server - those that you have permission to access.

How to get here

  1. Sign in to memoQWeb.
  2. On the left sidebar, click the Resources icon-resources icon.
  3. On the Resources page, click the Term bases icon. The Term bases page opens.

What can you do?

To create a new term base: At the top right, click the Create new button. The Create TB page opens.

To see information about a term base: Point your mouse at the TB's Info icon-info icon. The tooltip shows the TB's Project, Client, Domain, and Subject fields, the context type, and if the TB is moderated.

To edit the term base's settings and metadata: In the TB's row, click the Edit icon-edit icon. The TB properties page opens.

Cannot edit the TB's content here: You need memoQ to do that.

To export a term base into a CSV, XLSX, or Multiterm XML file: In the TB's row, click the More options icon. In the menu, click Export terminology. The Export page opens.

To delete a term base: In the TB's row, click the More options icon. In the menu, click Delete. A warning window opens. Check the check boxes, and click the Delete term base button.
