memoQ online project - Settings - TM Settings

1. In the list of TM settings, select the one you need to copy.
2. Under the list of TM settings, click Clone/use new.
3. The Clone TM settings into a new resource window opens. It's the same as the Create new TM settings window.
4. Type a name for the TM settings resource. You may also type a description.

5. Click OK.

   The TM settings resource appears in the list at the top. Its check mark will be checked - it will be ready to use in the project.

Only on the same memoQ server: When you create a resource in an online project, memoQ will always create it on the same memoQ server where the project is.

Always clone the default TM settings: You can't edit the Default TM settings resource. If you need a resource that you can edit, make a copy of (clone) the default one.

To use a TM settings resource, you need to add it to the project. You should add a TM settings resource before you send documents to translators. A project always has exactly one TM settings resource.

If you do not make a change, memoQ will always use the Default TM settings resource for the project. To use another:

1. In the list of TM settings, find the TM settings resource you need.
2. Click its check box on the left.

   The TM settings resource moves to the top of the list. The check box of previous one will be cleared.

If there are too many TM settings resources on the memoQ server, you can filter the list. At the top of the TM settings tab, there is a Name/description box.

Type a word or two in the Name/description box. It will narrow the list immediately to those TM settings resources that have those words in their names or descriptions.

To sort the list by a detail: Click the header of the column you need. For example, to sort the list by name, click the Name header at the top of the list.

You can export a TM settings resource into an .mqres file. An .mqres file is an XML file where memoQ saves resources like segmentation rule sets, QA option sets, TM settings etc. These are called light resources because they don't contain a large amount of linguistic data.

To export a TM settings resource:

1. In the list, select the TM settings resource you need to export.
2. Under the list, click Export. A Save As window opens.

   Or: Right-click the TM settings resource. From the menu, choose Export.

3. Find a folder and a name for the file, and click Save. memoQ will export all details from the TM settings resource in the file.

   You can also import a TM settings resource from a .mqres file. When you import an .mqres file, memoQ will always create a new TM settings resource.

Because memoQ saves all kinds of resources in .mqres files, you need to make sure that your .mqres file contains a TM settings resource.

To import a TM settings resource from an .mqres file:

1. At the bottom of the TM settings tab, click Import new. An Open window appears.
2. Select the .mqres file. Click Open.
3. The Import new TM settings window opens. It's the same as the Create new TM settings window.
4. memoQ will pick up the name of the TM settings resource from the .mqres file. However, you can give it a new name, and type a new description, too.
5. Click OK.

1. In the list of TM settings, select the one you need to edit.
2. Under the list of TM settings, click Edit.
3. The Edit TM settings window opens.
4. Change the TM options as necessary.

Cannot edit the default TM settings resource: You can't edit the Default TM settings resource. If you need a resource that you can edit, clone the Default TM settings resource first.

1. In the list, select the TM settings resource.
2. Below the list, click Properties.
3. The Resource properties window opens. It's the same as the Create new TM settings window.
4. If necessary, change the name or the description of the resource. Click OK.

1. In the list, select the TM settings resource.
2. Below the list, click Delete.
3. The Confirm delete message box opens. To delete the resource, click Yes.

When you make changes to an online project, the changes will happen on memoQ server, not on your computer. It is possible that several users make changes to the project at the same time.

Some changes are not saved automatically. When there are changes you need to save, the green tick mark icon at the top left will become orange:

To save changes to the online project, click this button.

To get the changes that others made to the online project, click this button:

Make sure you save your changes before you click this.
