Replace metadata

Metadata is the additional information stored with terms in a term base, such as status, domain, client, or other custom fields. You can replace metadata for selected entries or update all entries in the term base at once.

How to get here

  1. Open memoQweb in a web browser and log in.
  2. Click the Qterm sidebar. The Qterm - Home page appears.
  3. Open the term base you want to work with.

The first time you open a term base, memoQ asks you to choose languages - choose them from theLanguage and the Second languagedropdowns.

  4. If you want to open this term base always with the same filter, choose it from the Filter dropdown.

  5. Click Browse term base. The Browse terms page opens.

  6. Select the entries you want to update using the checkboxes next to them.

If you don’t select any entries, the metadata update applies to all entries in the term base.

  7. To open the replacement tool:

    • Click Replace metadata  at the top of the page,

      or

    • If you selected one or more entries, click the Search and replace metadata  button below the entry list.

      The Replace metadata pane opens:

memoQ QTerm “Replace metadata” interface. The left panel displays a list of terminology entries in Hungarian and English, while the right panel contains editable metadata fields such as Domain, Subject, Client, Project, Definition, Case sensitivity, Matching, and Forbidden settings. The selected entry is “alma / apple; apple2”.
