Here you can:

Check your usage data

Check the Total usage section - if you want to know how many characters you used in total since you started translating with memoQ AGT.

To focus on the current numbers, check the Current usage and the Remaining characters sections.

How do we calculate characters?

In memoQ AGT characters are source and target content + translatable source.

What does the usage number include?

  • The source segment to be translated.

  • The source and the target of the TM, LiveDocs, and TB hits.

  • The character count in your project.

What does Context mean?

Those are TM, LiveDocs, and TB matches - source and target character count.

AGT counts ONLY the source and target characters of the context and the source characters of the translated text. It doesn't count the prompt.

There is a limit to the context you can use based on your TMs and TBs.

Remember, providing too much context information can overwhelm the prompt and result in rejecting the translation request.

Tips and tricks

You should know that:

  • memoQAGT works better with more resources and bigger translation volumes.

  • If you do not have a lot of resources, try to pre-translate your document in sections.

For example, the first section will cover the segments 1-10, the second section segments 11-30, and the third section segments 31-70. This way you can leverage from your own translations.

  • Your translation memory should follow your terminology. If your TM contains wrong or old terminology pre-translation can use it.

  • Translation memories are the most important resources you can use.

  • Term base matches are always send to memoQ AGT.
