Moving from MT settings to Translate with AGT

Starting from memoQ 11.5, we're moving the settings memoQ AGT uses during translation.

The goal is to simplify and centralize how you manage machine translation across your projects.

This means we’ve moved the configuration logic:

  • Before: You configured MT plugin behavior in the MT settings.

  • Now: It’s all set up in the Translate with AGT window.

How does it work?

If you’re already creating your memoQ AGT settings and projects on the new workflow, you’re ready to work.

However, if you’re working with existing MT settings (from memoQ 11.4 or earlier), or mixing workflows, watch out — behavior can change.

How to stay safe?

To avoid unexpected behavior:

  • Always use the latest version of the memoQ desktop and memoQ TMS.

  • Always use new settings created in the Translate with AGT window in the current version of memoQ (11.5 or later).

  • Don’t reuse MT settings created in older projects (memoQ 11.4 or earlier).

If you must reuse them, open, edit, and save them again in the new version — this will eliminate all of them.

Best practices

  • Always use MT settings created in memoQ 11.5 or later.

  • If needed, update your old MT settings: edit and save them in the current memoQ version (11.5 or later).

Keep in mind that if you continue using memoQ 11.4 or earlier in your workflow, even with updated settings, some features may behave differently.
