What is memoQ translator pro

memoQ translator pro is a computer-assisted translation (CAT) tool designed for freelance translators.

It provides a local translation environment on Windows and allows users to work efficiently with translation memories, terminology, and quality assurance tools.

Unlike memoQ TMS (server-based solution), memoQ translator pro is a standalone license that doesn't require a server connection.

What do you need to know?

• memoQ translator pro is an integrated translation environment that runs on Microsoft Windows.

• When you renew your subscription, you always get access to the latest memoQ version.

  You can also use the older versions – but we recommend using an actively supported one.

• You can have multiple memoQ versions installed on your computer at the same time.

1. Translation assistance

   • Translation memory (TM) - stores past translations for reuse. Supports TMX import and export.

   • Term bases (TB) - helps maintain consistency through terminology management (Excel and TBX supported).

   • LiveDocs corpora - allows to reuse existing translations without going through a translation memory and add background materials.

   • Machine translation (MT) tools and plug-ins - they connect to providers like DeepL, Google Translate, and Microsoft Translator.

   • Concordance - finds matches in your translation memory for better accuracy.

2. Quality control

   • Quality Assurance (QA) - detects issues with non-linguistic elements such as missing tags, formatting, punctuation, spacing, etc.

   • Spell checking - integrated spellchecker that works with multiple languages.
