First steps with memoQ AGT
After you log in, the memoQ AGT dashboard opens.
Here you can:

-
Total usage section - check it if you want to know how many characters you used in total since you started translating with memoQ AGT.
-
Current usage - shows the numbers you use at the moment (source characters and context).
-
Remaining characters - shows how many characters you can still use and until when.
How do we calculate characters?
In memoQ AGT characters are source and target content + translatable source.
What does the usage number include?
What does Context mean?
Those are TM, LiveDocs, and TB matches - source and target character count.
memoQ AGT counts ONLY the source and target characters of the context and the source characters of the translated text. It doesn't count the prompt. There's a limit to the context you can use based on your TMs and TBs.
Remember, providing too much context information can overwhelm the prompt and result in rejecting the translation request.

memoQ AGT supports the following languages:
Albanian, Arabic, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.

You need an API key to authorize the memoQ AGT plugin in the memoQ TMS.
To create your API key:
-
Under the Remaining characters field, enter the name of the key. Make it as descriptive as possible so you can find it later and know who is using the key.
-
Click the Create API key button.
-
The New API key created page opens, displaying your newly created API key.
Make sure to save this API key as memoQ AGT won't display it again. If you lose it, you need to create a new one.
-
Now, you need to log in to memoQ and activate memoQ AGT there.
To do that, in the AGT plugin settings window, find the API key field and paste your code there.

You can remove an API key that you no longer use.
To do that:
-
Go to the main memoQ AGT window.
-
Under the API keys section, find the key you want to remove and click Remove.
-
memoQ AGT opens the confirmation window. Here you can verify basic information about the key you are about to remove.
-
To confirm, click the Yes, remove API key button.
The API key creation date and description will still be visible under the API keys section, but the key will be permanently removed.
To keep the API key, click the No, keep it button.

You should know that:
-
memoQ AGT works better with more resources and bigger translation volumes.
-
If you do not have a lot of resources, try to pre-translate your document in sections.
For example, the first section will cover the segments 1-10, the second section segments 11-30, and the third section segments 31-70. This way you can leverage from your own translations.
-
Your translation memory should follow your terminology. If your TM contains wrong or old terminology pre-translation can use it.
-
Translation memories are the most important resources you can use.
