Select TM settings

A LiveDocs settings resource tells memoQ how to get matches from a LiveDocs corpus. This means two things: match thresholds and penalties. Match thresholds set the minimum match rate of any match that memoQ shows, and tell memoQ what counts as a good match. These are used in pre-translation. Penalties are used when a match is not reliable: if the translation is bad or inadequate (or, in the case of LiveDocs, comes from an aligned document pair, and there is a misalignment), the match will be worse than the actual match rate.

To learn more about penalties, see the topic about editing LiveDocs settings.

Normally, a TM settings resource belongs to a project, not to a translation memory.

However, in a project, you can make an exception: You can use a translation memory, and tell memoQ to use a different TM settings resource for that translation memory.

How to get here

  1. Open a project.
  2. In Project home, choose Translation memories.
  3. Select a translation memory. Check its check box to include it in the project.
  4. On the Translation memories ribbon, click Settings.

The Select TM Settings window opens.

What can you do?

In the Select TM Settings window, memoQ lists the TM settings resources available to the project.

To choose a TM settings resource: Check its check box.

When you finish

To change the TM settings for the selected translation memory: Click OK.

memoQ will include the TM settings resource in the project, and use it for the selected translation memory only. You will get back to Project home.

To return to Project home without changing the TM settings: Click Cancel.
