A term base is a database that contains pairs of words or expressions (together: terms) in several languages. In translation, term bases are used like a glossary where you can look for terms that are relevant to your translation work.
How to get here
- Sign in to memoQweb.
- On the left sidebar, click the Resources icon.
On the Resources page, click the Term bases button. The Term bases page opens.
What can you do?
Create a new term base: At the top right, click the Create new button. The Create TB page opens.
See information about a term base: Point your mouse at the TB's Info icon. The tooltip shows the TB's Project, Client, Domain, Subject, and Filter fields, the context type, and if the TB is moderated.
Edit the term base's settings and metadata: In the TB's row, click the Edit icon. The TB properties page opens.
You cannot edit the TB's content here: You need memoQ to do that.
Import a CSV (or delimited TXT), XLSX, or Multiterm XML file into the term base: In the TB's row, click the More options icon. In the menu, click Import terminology. The Import page opens.
Export a term base into a CSV, XLSX, or Multiterm XML file: In the TB's row, click the More options icon. In the menu, click Export terminology. The Export page opens.
Delete a term base: In the TB's row, click the More options icon. In the menu, click Delete. A warning window opens. Check the check boxes, and click the Delete term base button.
