Welcome to memoQ AGT guide
memoQ Adaptive Generative Translation (AGT) is an AI-powered translation automation tool that uses advanced Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) technology. It combines the power of Large Language Models (LLMs) with your existing language resources like translation memories, term bases, and aligned documents in LiveDocs to deliver translations that are tailored and accurate.
It integrates seamlessly into your memoQ environment to boost translation quality, speed, and consistency.
memoQ AGT is a part of memoQ, not a standalone tool. If you want to use it, make sure you have a subscription to memoQ TMS.
How does it work?
First you need to click the Translate with AGT button in memoQ desktop app, memoQweb, WS API (AiTranslate), or, if you have memoQ version 12.0 or later, you can run an automated action in a template. It then connects to memoQ AGT’s service, which sends a prompt to the LLM running in Azure OpenAI.
At this point memoQ AGT already:
-
Uses Microsoft’s Large Language Models to help with translations.
-
Works with your translation memories, LiveDocs, and terminology to help the AI better understand your project’s style and vocabulary. This leads to translations that fit your specific domain and tone.
memoQ AGT send instructions to a large language model (LLM) to translate sentences. To improve the results, we also show this LLM all the translations of similar sentences from the translation memory (TM) and LiveDocs.
Why choose memoQ AGT?
-
You’re the one to decide when to use it based on your project needs.
-
You control how much data to send to memoQ AGT which helps balance quality with cost.
